What is Las Ventas?

Las Ventas bullring, opened in 1931, is the largest in Spain, with about 23,000 seats, and an outstanding example of neo-Mudéjar architecture in brick and tile. Besides the bullfighting season it hosts concerts and other shows, and has a museum and guided tours of the ring and pens.

Getting around from here

Ventas station (lines 2 and 5) is next to the bullring. Line 2 reaches Sol in about fifteen minutes and line 5 goes to Callao. The Movistar Arena is just over a kilometre to the south.

When rooms are hardest to find

During the San Isidro Fair, which fills the ring almost daily between May and June, and the Autumn Fair. Concert nights are also felt in the surrounding hotels.
