The village below the castle

Chulilla looks over the Turia gorge with its white houses stepped below the remains of the castle. If you stay in the village, you can walk out to the hanging bridges route and the Charco Azul, and to the climbing sectors in the canyon. It is mainly climbers, hikers and couples on a rural break who stay here.

The streets are narrow and steep. Leave the car in the car parks at the entrance and walk up with light luggage. On fine weekends many day visitors arrive, so book well ahead.

Chulilla spa

A few kilometres from the village, by the river, is the old spa, also known as the Baños de Chulilla. It is a setting of market gardens and riverside vegetation, secluded and very quiet. It suits those coming to rest, with children or in relaxation mode, rather than those who want to go out for a drink. To get to the village or the routes you need a car, although the path along the Turia starts almost at the door.

Rural houses in the municipality

Among the olive and almond groves around Chulilla there are country houses rented whole. They have more space, a terrace and sometimes a pool, welcome in summer. They are a good choice for groups of friends or families travelling together. Ask about access, as some tracks are not paved.

Losa del Obispo and Villar del Arzobispo

To the north, in the same Los Serranos area, these two villages have more everyday life, shops and bars. If Chulilla is full, there is usually more availability here. They are a short drive from the canyon and let you explore the rest of the area too. From here, Valencia city is easier to reach by road than from the bottom of the canyon.
