The centre and Carregador beach

El Carregador is Alcossebre’s town beach, with a low promenade and low-rise buildings. The restaurants, ice-cream parlours and supermarkets are gathered around it. It is the liveliest area on summer evenings and lets you spend your holiday without using the car. Families with young children appreciate having the sand and the services equally close.

Best-rated in this area: Hotel Alcossebre, with a score of 8.5 from 1,331 reviews.

Las Fuentes and the marina

Las Fuentes beach takes its name from the freshwater springs that rise at the shoreline, which is why the water feels cool even in August. Next to it is the marina, with a few bars and boat trips. From here you can stroll along the seafront to the centre, and the atmosphere is quiet and family-oriented. The sand is fine and the slope gentle, comfortable for little ones.

Best-rated in this area: Apartamentos Complejo Eurhostal, with a score of 7.8 from 1,729 reviews.

Towards the Serra d'Irta

To the north, the housing estates approach the Serra d'Irta, one of the few undeveloped stretches of coast in the province. Cala Blanca and other rocky coves are handy for swimming, and the natural park trails start almost at the door. It is the area for walkers, cyclists and silence seekers, although you will depend on the car for shopping or dinner. The Irta tracks lead on foot or by bike to the Badum tower, already in PeΓ±Γscola.

Southern housing estates

To the south, houses and apartments line the hillsides, with sea views and beaches such as La Romana. They are residential areas, good for long stays or groups renting a property. A car is almost essential to get to the centre. Some have communal pools and large terraces, and in summer you often see families who come back year after year.
