Centre, the main church and the market

Central Vinaròs is compact and easy to walk. The main church, with its Baroque façade, and the municipal market set the daily rhythm, surrounded by streets with shops and tapas bars. Staying here puts you two steps from the harbour and the seafront. It is the option for those who do not want to depend on the car. The pedestrian streets are easy with children, and things stay lively out of season.

The harbour and the seafront

The seafront promenade follows the coast from the fishing harbour, past the town beaches such as El Fortí. In the afternoon the fleet comes in and the fish market comes alive, and in the nearby restaurants the prawn is king. It is an area with sea views, plenty of strolling and terraces, popular with couples and families. If you come at carnival, this is where the festivities are most noticeable.

The north coast and its coves

Beyond the town, the coast turns rocky and small coves appear among developments of houses and apartments. There is less noise and fewer people, even in August. You will need a car to get to the centre and do your shopping, and it will also come in handy for trips to the Ebro Delta. Many of these developments have pools and gardens, and renting a house for several days is common.

The south coast towards Benicarló

To the south, Saldonar beach and the nearby developments look towards Benicarló. It is a quiet residential area, convenient for heading to Peñíscola. The atmosphere is one of family holidays, with little nightlife. The coastline is low and easy to cycle, and there are seaside paths for walking. To eat out, the centres of Vinaròs and Benicarló are a short drive away.
