Where to stay in Novelda: the best areas

Centre and modernista route

Novelda's centre holds the Casa Museo Modernista and several bourgeois houses built with saffron and marble money. It's the best-placed area to stay: shops, bars and the route of places linked to Jorge Juan are all on foot. Accommodation is limited and mainly geared to midweek business travel.

La Mola and the sanctuary

La Mola castle, with its triangular tower, and the Magdalena sanctuary sit on a hill on the outskirts. There's no accommodation next to them: you drive there in a few minutes or take a long walk from the centre.

Elda, Petrer and Alicante

Elda and Petrer, further up the valley, add more hotels when Novelda is full. Alicante, about thirty kilometres away, lets you see Novelda in a morning and get back to the beach for the evening.
