Where to stay in Cala Ratjada: the best areas

The harbour and the centre

The old fishing harbour is the heart of Cala Ratjada. Around it are fish restaurants, ice-cream parlours and a walk along the rocky coast to the Capdepera lighthouse. In season, boats to Ciutadella, in Menorca, and coastal trips leave from here. The streets of the centre are full of bars and clubs, so this area mainly attracts young people who go out at night. If you are travelling with children, you may prefer somewhere a little further away.

Son Moll

Son Moll beach, next to the centre, is a half-moon of sand with a promenade behind it. Staying around here puts the beach at your door and the harbour a few steps away. Nearby are the Sa Torre Cega gardens and their open-air sculptures. It suits families and couples who want everything at hand without depending on the car.

Best-rated in this area: Petit Hotel Ses Rotges - Only Adults, with a score of 9.1 from 798 reviews.

Cala Agulla

North of the town, Cala Agulla is a wide beach of white sand, sheltered by pine woods and dunes. The streets that lead down to it are full of resorts with pools and gardens, in a more residential setting. The centre is a short walk away. It is the option for anyone who wants a big beach, clear water and rest away from the nightlife.

Capdepera and Cala Mesquida

Capdepera, a few kilometres inland, is a village with its medieval castle on top and steep stone streets. It has village houses and rural accommodation, with local life all year round. Further north, Cala Mesquida is an unspoilt beach with dunes and a few resorts. Both options suit people looking for calm who travel by car. Capdepera also has a weekly market and places serving Majorcan food.
