Maderuelo is a single long street on the hilltop, between the Arco de la Villa and the church of Santa María del Castillo. The rural houses are inside this enclosure and let you watch the sunset over the Linares reservoir once the day visitors have gone. There are very few beds: book early.

On the far shore is the hermitage of the Vera Cruz and, in dry summers, the old bridge emerges. There's no accommodation by the shore, but you can walk or drive there in a few minutes.
