Ribeira centre and Coroso

The town revolves around its fishing harbour, one of the most important in Galicia. In the centre you have shops, a market, seafood restaurants and the liveliest streets at night. Coroso beach, with its promenade, is within the town itself. In summer the promenade fills with families in the evening.

Staying here lets you walk to the beach and have every service at hand. It is the logical choice if you are without a car, as buses leave from the centre.

Corrubedo

To the west, on the open sea, is the fishing village of Corrubedo, with its lighthouse and small harbour. Beside it begins the Corrubedo Dunes and Carregal and Vixán Lagoons Natural Park, with wooden boardwalks and the great moving dune. Area Maior beach has waves and surfers are a common sight.

It is the area for nature lovers and long walks. There are few services, so a car is almost essential.

Best-rated in this area: Blanca Mañana, with a score of 10.0 from 12 reviews.

Aguiño

At the southern tip of the municipality, Aguiño is another fishing village, surrounded by coves and rocks facing the Sálvora islands. It has a simple, family atmosphere, with small beaches and fewer people than the town. The nearby coves have rocks and pools, good for exploring at low tide. It is a good choice if you want silence and have a car.

Best-rated in this area: Vila Sen Vento - Aguiño, with a score of 8.8 from 74 reviews.

Palmeira

Further into the Arousa estuary, Palmeira faces the calm water of the inlet, with wave-free beaches popular with families. It is on the road to A Pobra do Caramiñal, near the A Curota viewpoint and the Axeitos dolmen, so it is convenient for exploring the Barbanza peninsula.

Best-rated in this area: Fusión de sensaciones, ático con espectaculares vistas, with a score of 9.6 from 10 reviews.
