Centre and the church square

The village was rebuilt higher up when the Belesar reservoir flooded the old one, and the fortress-church of San Nicolás and some façades were moved with it. Around the arcaded square are the guesthouses, small hotels and restaurants. It is the most convenient choice if you arrive on foot and don’t want to climb the hill again.

By the reservoir

Heading down towards the river Miño there are places to stay with views of the water and the remains of the old village, visible when the level drops. They are a little quieter and a short walk from the centre.

Rural cottages nearby

In the nearby hamlets there are rural cottages and manor houses that pick pilgrims up by car and take them back to the Camino in the morning. They are a good option in summer, when the village fills up.
