What is Victoria Station?
Victoria is one of London’s main railway stations, with trains to Brighton, Kent and Gatwick Airport. About five minutes away is Victoria Coach Station, where National Express coaches leave for the rest of the country and the airports. Buckingham Palace is ten minutes’ walk away.
Getting around from here
The Gatwick Express reaches the airport in about half an hour. The Victoria line goes to Green Park, Oxford Circus and King’s Cross in a few minutes, and the Circle and District lines to Westminster and South Kensington. On foot you can reach Westminster, Big Ben and St James’s Park.
When the hotels fill up
There are plenty of hotels here and you can nearly always find a room, but it gets busy in summer and during big events in London. If you are flying from Gatwick or travelling by coach, staying here saves one trip with your bags.
