Old town and Passeig del Mar

The streets between the Passeig del Mar, the Rambla Vidal and the monastery form the heart of the town. You have the town beach in front, the promenade terraces and the shops of the centre, and you can do everything on foot. It is the area for anyone without a car or who wants to go out to dinner and stroll back along the sea.

The bus to Girona and other coastal towns also leaves from here, and the Carrilet greenway starts a few streets away, handy if you are travelling with a bike.

The harbour and Sant Elm

At the southern end of the bay are the marina and the fishing port, with the Sant Elm headland above. Staying in this part puts you close to the boats that run coastal trips and to the hermitage viewpoint. The streets climbing the hillside have views over the bay, though you face some slopes on the way back.

Sant Pol

North of the centre, past the headland that closes the bay, lies Sant Pol beach. It is a wide, open bay with a district of houses and apartments behind it and few shops. It suits families and anyone wanting a roomier beach than the town one. The centre is reached on foot along the coastal path or in a moment by car.

S'Agaró

Just past Sant Pol begins S'Agaró, an estate of grand houses with gardens, already in the municipality of Castell-Platja d'Aro. Its coastal path runs between villas and pines to the cove of Sa Conca. It is an option for quiet breaks as a couple. If you want more going on, Platja d'Aro, with its shops and nightlife, is right next door.
