Centre and Passeig de Manuel Puigvert

The heart of Calella lies between Carrer de l’Església, a pedestrian street full of shops, and Passeig de Manuel Puigvert, shaded by plane trees and open to the Platja Gran. From these streets you can walk to the parish church with its Baroque façade, the terraces, Parc Dalmau and the sand. At night it is the liveliest part, especially in summer, with bars and music until late.

Best-rated in this area: Hotel President, with a score of 8.8 from 4,029 reviews.

Around the station

Calella station is on the seafront, separated from the beach only by the tracks. If you want to make several trips to Barcelona on the R1 commuter line, which follows the Maresme coast, staying in the nearby streets saves you long walks with your luggage. It also works for heading to Girona or Blanes on the same line.

Lighthouse and Torretes

To the south the land rises towards the lighthouse and the Torretes, with rocky coves below. It is the quietest part and has the best views over the Maresme coast. You will like it if you prefer to swim away from the main beach and do not mind a slope on the way back to the centre.

Best-rated in this area: Camping Roca Grossa, with a score of 8.6 from 963 reviews.

Pineda de Mar

To the north, Calella runs straight into Pineda de Mar. Its seafront continues with a wide beach and apartment blocks, with a more family feel and less going on at night. It has its own station on the same train line, and you can walk to Calella along the shore. Families with children usually find more spacious apartments here.

Sant Pol de Mar

If you are looking for a small village, Sant Pol, to the south, has white houses, sloping streets and the hermitage of Sant Pau above the sea. There are few places to stay and the atmosphere is very local, but the train stops in the village and gets you to Calella in a short ride.
