Where to stay in Utrera: the best areas

Altozano and Santa María de la Mesa

Utrera's historic centre is large, revolving around the Plaza del Altozano, the Plaza de la Constitución and the church of Santa María de la Mesa, with its tower of about sixty metres. Staying here lets you go out for tapas at night and buy mostachones, the local sponge biscuits, at the confectioners in the morning. Accommodation is limited and fills up during the fair and for the Potaje Gitano festival in late June.

Castle and Santiago

Around the castle and the church of Santiago it's quieter, with streets of low houses and the parade ground where concerts are held. It's a few minutes' walk from the centre.

Seville by train

Utrera has Cercanías and regional trains to Seville, with short, frequent journeys. If you can't find a room or prefer more choice, the easy option is to stay in Seville and come by train. The Consolación sanctuary, on the outskirts, is best visited by car.
