Where to stay in Mazagón: the best areas

Centre and marina

The heart of Mazagón lies between the marina and the village's main avenue. Here are the supermarkets, pharmacies, ice-cream parlours and almost all the fish restaurants. You can get by without a car: walk down to the beach, dine on the promenade and walk back. It is the best option for families with children and those who do not want to depend on the car every day.

By the marina the beach is wide and calm, with a breakwater and promenade. In August it stays busy until late, so ask for an inside room if you want to sleep without terrace noise.

Best-rated in this area: Hotel Albaida Nature, with a score of 8.6 from 1,273 reviews.

Parador beach and the pine woods

Leaving the village to the east, the coast road runs among pines and the houses thin out. Below the sandy cliff lies the Parador beach, with dunes and wooden boardwalks running down from the pine wood. This part attracts couples and those seeking silence, long walks along the shore and sunsets. To shop or have dinner you will need to go back to the centre, usually by car or bike.

Housing estates and campsites

Around the village there are estates of detached and terraced houses, many rented by the week, and several campsites tucked into the pine woods. They are the usual alternative for long summer stays and for groups who want their own kitchen and garden. Check on the map how far the nearest beach access is, because some are behind the dunes and require crossing the road.

Towards Palos and La Rábida

If your plan is to visit the Columbus sites and the city of Huelva, look for accommodation on the west side of the village, towards the exit for Palos de la Frontera. You save time on every outing and still have the beach close by. For Doñana it is the other way round: the road to Matalascañas and El Acebuche leaves from the east, so the Parador area suits you better.
