Centre and harbour

Barbate lives from the sea and its centre is built around the fishing harbour, with the fish market and the boats that work the almadraba. The streets of the centre have shops, a food market and traditional bars serving bluefin tuna, fried fish and mojama, one of the most typical local products.

Staying in the centre puts everything within reach and lets you see the town as it is, beyond tourism. Out of season it is still busy, because it is a working town all year round.

Towards Los Caños de Meca

Crossing the La Breña pine forest you reach Los Caños de Meca, still in the municipality of Barbate. It has coves, the Trafalgar lighthouse nearby and a more bohemian feel. To get between Los Caños and the town you will need a car, as the road crosses the park's pine forest.
