What to see in Valoria la Buena

Must-sees

Valoria la Buena is a village in the Pisuerga farmland, less than half an hour north-east of Valladolid, within the Cigales wine appellation. Its main monument is the church of San Pedro, a neoclassical church with a hexagonal central plan, topped by a dome decorated with plasterwork and resting on pairs of Corinthian columns. Close by is the Museo del Cántaro, with more than three hundred catalogued pieces of traditional pottery.

Besides its heritage, the village has some unusual attractions. Puerto Espacial is a science-fiction-themed exhibition with galactic sets and figures of well-known film characters, a big hit with children and fans. Wine is the other great reason to come: there are DO Cigales wineries in the municipality that open their doors to visitors, surrounded by vineyards and cereal fields.
